Detailed Exterior Wash

A thorough exterior wash down and scrub using environmentally friendly Boat Wash with Carnauba Wax to clean away dirt, salt and grime and leave your protective wax coat in tact.

Washes include locker gutters, non-skid, fly bridge, radar arch, hull, swim step and all cabin sides.

Windows and hatches are dried to remove water droplets. Clear plastic is carefully washed with a soft cloth and rinsed, never scrubbed. Correct brushes are used on all surfaces. Recommended every two weeks.

Buff And Wax – Light Oxidation

Removal with protective wax finish

For gel coats in fairly good to good condition, Meguiar’s #50 Cleaner Wax is applied with an electric buffer and wool pad.

Utilizing the buffer allows a detailer to apply an even coat of wax over the surface with varying amounts of pressure depending on the level of oxidation and/or grime.

Where the buffer cant reach, wax is applied and worked in by hand. Cleaner wax is removed by hand with a soft terry cloth. A second coat of wax is then applied and removed in the same manner only this time using Scotchgard Marine Liquid Wax to seal the freshly cleaned surface and provide UV protection. We can reach all smooth surfaces from the water-line up.

A platform raft is employed when water levels are low or the hull is hard to reach. If your yacht is hauled out, our crew will work at the designated boatyard utilizing scaffold equipment to reach the hull. Recommended twice a year for top condition, once a year for essential maintenance.

Buff And Wax

Compound application with protective wax finish

For gel coats in poor to fair condition. A more aggressive process is used to remove heavy oxidation from chalky or faded gel coats. 3M Imperial Compound, a cleaning material with a fast cut and nice finish, is applied with an electric buffer and wool pad.

Utilizing the buffer allows a detailer to apply an even coat of compound over the surface with varying amounts of pressure depending on the level of oxidation. Extra passes and pressure are generally required to work out the damage from oxidation and restore the gel coat. Where the buffer canÍt reach, compound is applied and worked in by hand.

Compound residue is removed by hand with a soft terry cloth. A coat of wax is then applied and removed in the same manner using Scotchgard Marine Liquid Wax to seal the freshly cleaned surface and provide UV protection. (Depending on the condition of the gel coat, alternative products and/or steps can be employed to produce the best results.)

We can reach all smooth surfaces from the water line up. A platform raft is employed when water levels are low or the hull is hard to reach. If your yacht is hauled out, our crew will work at the designated boatyard utilizing scaffold equipment to reach the hull.

Recommended once to restore finish, followed by regular gel coat maintenance twice a year for top condition. Once a year for essential maintenance.

Brightwork

Interior or exterior wood refinish or maintenance service

Depending on the condition of the wood, all of the following or some of the following processes are necessary. Damaged areas need to be stripped to bare wood, sanded as needed and build-up coats of varnish need to be applied. As many as 12-15 coats of varnish can be applied to fully and beautifully protect wood finishes.

As few as 2 coats can be applied as regular maintenance to help protect already healthy finishes. All projects require fastidious tape-off masking prep work and expert sanding. 3M Scotch Brand Safe-Release Masking Tape and 3M Stikit Gold Sheet Sand Paper are used for prep work. It takes a trained eye and specific application skills to accomplish a glass-like finish. Z-Spar 2015 Flagship Varnish is applied by brush for highest quality UV protection and superior gloss retention. Every project is completed with tape removal and clean up. Brightwork is recommended as needed for repairs/refinish projects. Once a year overall maintenance coats are recommended to protect healthy finishes.
